Warren Wins Environmental Award
The 90th Space Wing at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne has won, for the second time in three years, the DoD Environment Restoration, Installation Award. Warren was chosen for 2001 as the best base in the Air Force when it comes to cleaning up the environment from past contaminations. "It's always a great feeling when you're recognized for doing good work, but it's particularly gratifying to know that the Warren program is now seen as a leader in the environmental cleanup area, "said John Wright, chief of Environmental Restoration Management. The program includes developing and implementing remediation plans, reducing or eliminating groundwater and soil contamination and rehabilitating natural resources.
